We are a group of volunteers who repair and sell wheelchairs at very reasonable prices.
RSVP organized “Wonderful Wheelchairs” program located at Cayuga Ridge on the 1229 Trumansburg Road, Ithaca . This program was started to repair and allocate wheelchairs to residents of all of the Skilled Nursing Facility.

The Retired Senior Volunteer
Program (RSVP) group Wonderful Wheelchairs has begun a program to repair broken wheelchairs for Cayuga Ridge. Last June the renovations began, headed by volunteer Carol John.
Fellow volunteers Monte May, Ardie Bennett and Fritz Stamp have set up shop in the basement. Here they have organized a space filled with parts, tools and equipment to repair and clean wheelchairs. Since they began last June, numerous wheelchairs that were unusable have been cleaned repaired and delivered back to the nursing home.

Wonderful Wheelchairs is a program conducted by RSVP volunteers in which old, poorly operating manual wheelchairs are repaired, refurbished and made available to persons in the Ithaca area who need them. The program needs both donations of wheelchairs and volunteers.
